Shenzhen University Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. was founded in 1984 and is a national comprehensive Grade-A design unit approved by the competent construction authorities. It has two branches, the Shanghai Branch and the Xi'an Branch, and is also the controlling shareholder of Shenzhen Dayuan Architectural Technology Research Co., Ltd. It is mainly engaged in architectural engineering design, urban and town planning, residential area planning and design, interior and exterior decoration design, and landscape design. It involves research topics such as pre-construction consulting, planning research, and architectural technology consulting. The projects it has completed are spread across more than a dozen large and medium-sized cities nationwide.


Since its establishment, Shenzhen University Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. has devoted itself fully to the construction of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and the development of Shenzhen University. Over nearly thirty years since its founding, along with the development of Shenzhen and the growth of Shenzhen University, it has developed from a design office with only a dozen or so people into a large Grade-A comprehensive design institute with many nationally renowned experts and scholars. It has participated in the compilation of many national, provincial, and municipal codes, regulations, local standards, and design data collections, including "High-rise Office Comprehensive Building Design," "Practical High-rise Building Structural Design," "Architectural Design Data Collection," "Code for Structural Design of High-rise Concrete Buildings," "High-rise Building Structural Detailing Data Collection," "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings," "Shenzhen Building Waterproofing Construction Atlas," "Technical Code for Waterproofing of Underground Works," "Technical Specification for Building Waterproofing Engineering," and others. It has undertaken dozens of national, provincial, and ministerial-level scientific research projects, served as consultant for many large-scale municipal projects, and has all-round cooperative relationships with many internationally renowned architectural firms, including SOM, ARQ, and HOK, as well as many famous real estate developers, including Vanke, China Overseas, Gemdale, Excellence Group, Kaisa, Zhenye, and China Merchants. Horizontal scientific research funding reached 32 million yuan, and in 2006 it established the "Shenzhen University Architectural and Urban Planning Design Innovation Experimental Center."


Since its founding, the institute has won nearly one hundred excellent design and science and technology awards at national, ministerial, provincial, and municipal levels. These include one first prize for national excellent structural design, two first prizes of the Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award, four Zhan Tianyou Civil Engineering Grand Awards, and two double gold awards for building environment.

The Shanghai Branch of Shenzhen University Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. was established in 1985 and has successively undertaken more than one hundred projects of various large and medium-sized civil and industrial building design, residential area planning, landscape design, and other projects in Shanghai and East China. The Xi'an Branch was established in 2004 and has undertaken more than one hundred architectural design and planning design tasks in Northwest China.


Shenzhen Dayuan Architectural Technology Research Co., Ltd., established in February 2005, is entrusted by the government to conduct technical review of construction drawing design documents for construction projects in Shenzhen. In addition to carrying out external construction drawing design document review work, the company also provides design consulting, architectural technology development, cost control suggestions, optimization of architectural and structural schemes, research on difficult engineering problems, design supervision, and other services to all sectors of society. To date, the company has completed construction drawing design document review tasks for many projects, including design supervision work for nearly twenty projects.
