The company adheres to the mission of "Editing genes, decoding life" and focuses on life science research and new drug development. Driven by innovative applications of gene editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas and ES cell targeting, the company has built a technology platform centered on precise modification of model organism genomes, gene function phenotype analysis, and drug screening and evaluation. It has established a living model resource bank covering human genes, providing corresponding research models and technical means for functional annotation of the human genome, elucidation of disease pathogenesis, and discovery of new drug targets, thereby helping research institutions, innovative drug companies, and CRO companies enhance their R&D efficiency and innovation levels.
Since its establishment in 2000, the company has developed over 10,000 types of genetically modified animal models cumulatively in the fields of gene function research and drug development for tumors, neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, metabolic diseases, inflammation, and rare diseases. Among them, more than 5,000 models were independently developed by the company. Notably, in frontier and key disease research areas such as immune checkpoints including PD-1, PD-L1, CTLA-4, CD47, and TIGIT, APOE4-type Alzheimer's disease, and hemophilia A/B, the company has established humanized mouse and related disease models, which have been widely used by research institutions and drug development enterprises.
With its large-scale model development capability and rich model resource reserves, the company effectively serves national and local industrial innovation strategies. It has successively become a research base for disease animal models under the "863" Plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology in the field of biotechnology, a Shanghai Engineering Technology Research Center for Model Animals, a Shanghai Professional Technology Service Platform for Model Organisms, and a Shanghai Professional Technology Service Platform for Comparative Medicine.
