The Western Branch of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (Chongqing Information and Communication Research Institute, hereinafter referred to as "CAICT Western Branch") was jointly established by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the Chongqing Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission, and the People's Government of Nan'an District. The CAICT Western Branch currently has a total experimental and office area of over 50,000 square meters, operating the "IoT Zone·Yu" Industrial Park, the "Digital Content·Yu" Industrial Park, and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Industrial Digitalization Empowerment Base. A new base covering 30 mu is under construction. It possesses more than 2,000 sets of experimental instruments and meters, with a total equipment value of over 500 million yuan. It has more than 550 employees, including over 50 senior engineers. It has cumulatively undertaken more than 20 * projects and over 460 municipal and district-level major projects, formulated 41 national, industry, and local standards, and obtained 9 invention patents and over 20 other patents. It has been awarded the titles of "National Demonstration Platform for Public Services to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises," "Manufacturing 'Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship' Platform Pilot Demonstration Enterprise," and "Industrial Technology Basic Public Service Platform" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is the operating service and secretariat unit for multiple information and communication industry organizations in the western region.
