Vallourec Steel Pipe Company (formerly known as Vallourec Mannesmann Steel Pipe Company) was established in October 1997 as a joint venture formed by French Vallourec Group (55% shares) and German Mannesmann Steel Pipe Company (45% shares), combining their production and market share of seamless hot-rolled steel pipes, oil-specific pipes, and threads. In 2005, Vallourec Group took over the 45% shares previously held by German Mannesmann Steel Pipe Company, increasing its shareholding from 55% to 100%.
