1962年春，被国人誉为痔科国宝的陆琦，受邀为周恩来总理治愈痔病，深得总理等党和国家领导人的好评。次年在杭州，周总理嘱咐陆琦，一定要把祖国的肛肠诊疗技术发扬光大。为了总理的嘱托，陆琦坚守半个世纪，耕耘着自己的肛肠事业，他希望在有生之年，创立一所现代化肛肠专科医院。2004 年，陆琦终于完成了自己的世纪夙愿，携手学生田建利，从杭州起航，开始了肛肠专科医院艰难的筹备工作。2008年杭州医博肛泰医院创办成立。
