Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd., originally founded in 1934, was one of the 156 key national construction projects during the First Five-Year Plan period, and was formerly known as Wuchang Shipyard. In 2016, Wuchang Shipbuilding Group and Qingdao Beichuan Heavy Industry underwent a resource and capability integration, propelling the enterprise's scale and production capacity to the forefront of the shipbuilding industry.
