Shanghai Construction Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. was established in January 1979. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai Construction Engineering Group, it is the only comprehensive design consulting enterprise within the group that features architecture as its specialty, with coordinated development across various disciplines and complementary advantages. It plays a pioneering role in design within the group's full industry chain. Our business scope covers architectural design, planning consulting, urban planning, urban design, landscape design, interior design, decoration design, prefabricated building design (PC), geotechnical engineering investigation and design, design management, engineering procurement construction (EPC), construction supervision, etc. We also possess the qualification for construction drawing review of construction projects, host a national laboratory for construction machinery testing, and have testing qualifications for various equipment and materials. The institute currently has nearly 2,000 employees, with senior and intermediate technical personnel accounting for about 50% in the design sector. Adhering to innovation-driven, multi-disciplinary, and comprehensive development, over nearly 40 years of efforts, we have undertaken the design of a number of landmark and livelihood projects with high social influence, covering super high-rise office buildings, cultural buildings, medical buildings, tourism buildings, transportation complexes, prefabricated buildings, and other sectors. A total of over 5,000 projects of various types have been designed, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai New International Expo Center, Shanghai International Dance Center, Shanghai Hongqiao Corsun Center, the Mexican Pavilion, Indonesian Pavilion, New Zealand Pavilion, Aurora Enterprise Pavilion, and Enterprise United Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo, Xinjiang Guest House, and other high-influence brand projects. The institute has firmly secured a mainstream position in the Shanghai design market and established a good brand image. In recent years, the institute has further optimized its national market layout and insisted on expanding the large markets of Shanghai and the whole country. Currently, it has three physical branches in other regions: Sichuan Branch, Hunan (Yongzhou) Branch, and Qingdao Branch, forming a domestic market layout of "1+4+X" centered on Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta market, radiating to the central and western regions. Design projects span 27 provinces (municipalities) and autonomous regions nationwide, as well as some overseas markets. With strong momentum in whole-process development, in 2017, it became one of the first 12 pilot enterprises in Shanghai for engineering general contracting with design as the main business. It has won 11 EPC projects, including the Nine Trees (Shanghai) Future Art Center, Changde Economic Development Zone Yuanjiang Scenic Belt Construction, Fenghua Xiwu Street Small Town Environment Comprehensive Improvement, and Hongkou District Jiangwan Town Yanshan Bay, covering education, culture, landscape, commerce, urban renewal, and other fields, with a cumulative contract amount exceeding 1.8 billion yuan. Making continuous breakthroughs in full-disciplinary development, it actively expands into municipal engineering, planning, cost estimation, transportation hubs, and other specialties and sectors. It has successively undertaken important projects such as Ji'an West Station Comprehensive Transportation Hub, Guigang City Railway Station construction detailed planning and high-speed railway station front square, forming a full-disciplinary development situation encompassing transportation hubs, municipal engineering, road facilities, and urban renewal. The institute adheres to innovation-driven and technology-based development and has achieved fruitful design results. It has won more than 200 important design awards at or above the provincial (municipal) level. Particularly in the past decade, research achievements in building industrialization technology (PC) have been more abundant. It has led or participated in the compilation of multiple Shanghai local standards and obtained multiple national independent intellectual property rights. For consecutive years, it has been honored with titles such as "National Integrity Unit in Architectural Design Enterprises", "Excellent Company in Shanghai Key Project Practical Contribution Competition", "Shanghai Workers' Most Satisfying Enterprise (Institution)", "Shanghai May Day Labor Award", "Shanghai Health Unit", "Shanghai Safe Unit", "Shanghai Harmonious Labor Relations Enterprise", and others.
