Guangzhou Pearl River Sports and Culture Development Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Pearl River Sports) was established in 2001. It is a member enterprise of Guangzhou Pearl River Development Group Co., Ltd., a listed subsidiary of Guangzhou Pearl River Industrial Group Co., Ltd., which is under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangzhou Municipal Government. Pearl River Sports is one of the earliest enterprises in China to adopt market-oriented approaches in the operation of sports venues, and has successfully supported the entire chain of events from regional, municipal, provincial, national, to international levels. The flagship venue operated by Pearl River Sports, Guangzhou Gymnasium, pioneered the model of government-led investment with enterprise participation, general contracting construction, and operation and management of large public sports facilities in China. After setting a benchmark in the operation and management model of Guangzhou Gymnasium and accumulating extensive experience, Pearl River Sports implemented a "going global" strategy to expand its business territory. Through over 20 years of development, Pearl River Sports currently manages, constructs, or provides consulting for 26 sports venues across provinces and municipalities including Guangdong, Shandong, Chongqing, Henan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Hunan. The total assets under management amount to approximately 35 billion yuan, with cumulative construction area exceeding 3 million square meters, ranking Pearl River Sports among the top operators of similar enterprises nationwide.
