Telecommunication Technology Fifth Research Institute Co., Ltd. (formerly the Fifth Research Institute of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), established in 1965, is affiliated to China Information and Communication Technology Group Co., Ltd. and is a second-level enterprise directly under the central enterprises managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. As a national restructured research institute, it is one of the earliest authoritative research institutions in China engaged in communication technology research and equipment development. The Company has undertaken over 200 national, ministerial (provincial) level research tasks, and has been awarded the First and Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. It serves as the domestic counterpart group leader for ITU-T SG5 and the deputy leader for ITU-T SG15.
