The story of COSTA COFFEE began in 1971, when two Italian brothers, Sergio and Bruno, arrived in London with a desire to make quality coffee a part of Londoners' daily lives. In 1981, the Costa brothers opened their first coffee shop on Vauxhall Bridge Road in London. From there, COSTA COFFEE expanded its footprint across London, the UK, and eventually the globe. Today, COSTA COFFEE operates over 3,800 stores in 32 markets, over 8,000 self-service coffee machines, and has more than 3,000 hotel and restaurant channel partners in the UK. Costa Coffee's journey in China began in 2006 with the opening of its first store in Shanghai. Today, Costa Coffee in China has over 500 stores and several thousand full-time and part-time employees, all dedicated to bringing the best coffee experience to the Chinese market. In 2019, Costa Coffee joined the Coca-Cola family, and we look forward to giving more consumers more opportunities to experience quality coffee from Costa in the future.
