National High-tech Enterprise Beijing InnoRock Pharmaceutical Innovation Co., Ltd. was founded in 1999 by Professor Zhang Baoxian, a researcher at the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. Since its establishment, the company has been committed to the research and development of innovative Chinese medicines and new formulations, serving the inheritance, innovation, and development of traditional Chinese medicine. It is a leading enterprise in the private sector of Chinese medicine research and development, focusing primarily on independent R&D, supplemented by contracted R&D, with distinctive new formulations, integrating R&D, technology transfer, and industrialization. It has 16 wholly-owned and holding subsidiaries, strategically located in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the Yangtze River Delta. The team comprises nearly 900 employees, with 50,000 square meters of laboratory space, a 10,000 square meter pilot base, and a 60-acre production base. The company integrates the R&D and industrialization of pharmaceuticals and health products, possessing core technologies in formulations such as nebulized inhalation, in-situ gels, nano-transdermal delivery, bone targeting, and tumor nucleic acid targeting. It has built a complete R&D industry chain across six R&D pipelines: respiratory, orthopedics, dermatology, ophthalmology, anti-infection, and tumor nucleic acid targeting, and holds a leading position in five major fields: new Chinese medicine compound drugs, new formulations, innovative Chinese medicines, Chinese medicine CRO, and health foods. Currently, it has over 300 self-developed new drug projects, and one-third of over 100 key projects have entered into share-based cooperation with major listed companies. In terms of qualifications, InnoRock is among the first batch of national high-tech enterprises. Its relevant laboratories have obtained CNAS certification, and it hosts the Tianjin Key Laboratory for Pulmonary Drug Delivery, the Guangdong Nebulized Inhalation Engineering Technology Center, and the Hebei Key Laboratory for Nebulized Inhalation of Chinese Medicine. Additionally, InnoRock's "Key Technologies and Applications in Innovative Chinese Medicine R&D" won the First Prize of the 2019 Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, and in 2022, it was recognized as a national "Little Giant" in the specialized, refined, differentiated, and innovative category by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and as a National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise. Over 24 years since its establishment, InnoRock has cumulatively obtained 12 new drug certificates, 46 production approvals, and 44 clinical approvals, totaling 102 items; it has filed 708 patent applications, with 192 authorized patents and 14 PCT international patents. It has received 15 national 863 and Ministry of Science and Technology "Eleventh Five-Year", "Twelfth Five-Year", and "Thirteenth Five-Year" Major New Drug Creation special projects, as well as 27 other provincial and ministerial-level projects. Currently, most of the top 100 Chinese medicine enterprises in China have become long-term strategic partners of InnoRock. The company deeply cultivates the medical and health track centered on Chinese medicine innovation, using its main performance output models of independent industrialization, share-based cooperation, CRO, CDMO, and CSO. It aims to integrate new theories and technologies with traditional Chinese medicine, hoping to bring more new drugs of significant value to society in the future and make positive contributions to the cause of Chinese medicine.
