Company Introduction

JCPBIC Shanghai Office is a wholly-owned subsidiary of J.C. Penney Purchasing HongKong Limited, which is owned by the JCPenney Purchasing LLC. It is currently the “importer of record” for JCPenney and its retailing subsidiaries. At the Home Office in Plano, Texas, JCPenney Purchasing LLC operates under the title of Product Development/Sourcing as a department within the parent Company.

JCPBIC/Product Development/Sourcing “sources” a wide range of products, including products from approximately 50 countries throughout the world. Its Overseas Territories include North Asia, South Asia, the Western Hemisphere, Europe and Africa. JCP/Product Development/Sourcing maintains purchasing offices in important markets, with an emphasis on the Far East.

JCPBIC seeks to facilitate the direct import of merchandise, where appropriate, thereby creating substantial savings to the Company and impacting the gross margin of profits. Buying Units can then pass these savings on to the final customers.
