China Food Fermentation Industry Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Institute), established in 1955, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Light Industry Group under China Poly Group, a Fortune 500 enterprise. It is the oldest, largest, and most comprehensively strong state-owned research institution in China's food industry. In 1999, it was transformed into one of the twelve large-scale science and technology enterprises directly under the central government, and in December 2017, it completed the reform of corporate system. The Institute has a national first-level discipline master's degree authorization point and a postdoctoral workstation, and is a national high-tech enterprise and an innovative pilot enterprise. Since its establishment, the Institute has completed over 1,000 national, provincial, and ministerial-level projects, won more than 240 national, provincial, and ministerial-level science and technology awards, obtained over 160 national and international invention patents, and formulated more than 700 national and industry standards. As the most comprehensively strong technology R&D base in China's food industry, the Institute actively conducts scientific research, industry-university-research cooperation, international cooperation, transformation of scientific research achievements, and industrialization in important fields such as the development and application of new food resources and functional ingredients, utilization of microbial resources in food industry, traditional brewing engineering technology, food safety assurance technology, and standardization technology. It has prominent advantages in integrating innovation of industry common and key technologies and engineering of achievements; it holds a leading position in fields such as traditional food fermentation and metabolic regulation, development of food-derived functional peptides, chromatographic fingerprint analysis of traditional Baijiu and food authenticity identification, utilization of microbial resources in food industry, traditional brewing engineering technology, development of new food resources and functional ingredients, food safety assurance technology, and standardization technology; it plays an important role in national food safety early warning and handling of sudden events, food market access, and food standard formulation, with irreplaceable industry influence. The Institute will adhere to the concept of "innovative development, serving the industry", build an application-oriented R&D institution that is advanced and internationally synchronized, and provide full-industry-chain technical support and solutions for industry development.
