【Company Profile】
Shenzhen Academy of Aerospace Technology (abbreviated as "SAAT") is directly under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. It is a bureau-level public institution in Shenzhen and the first public institution in Shenzhen recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise. Founded in 2000, SAAT was formerly known as Shenzhen International Institute of Technology Innovation. In 2007, it was restructured and jointly established by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, and Harbin Institute of Technology through an agreement, initiating an operation model of industry-university-research cooperation among central enterprises, universities, and local governments.
SAAT focuses on four strategic emerging industry sectors: "Information Technology," "Power Electronics Technology," "New Materials," and "Intelligent Equipment." It engages in high-tech research and development, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, business incubation, and industrialization of technology products. SAAT currently has 6 research institutes (R&D centers), 5 Shenzhen Key Laboratories, 4 Shenzhen Engineering Laboratories, 2 public technology service platforms, 1 academician workstation, and 1 postdoctoral workstation. It owns 4 controlled industrial companies and 4 affiliated companies, forming a three-dimensional management structure of "Academy—Research Institute (Joint R&D Center)—Specialized Company." SAAT has a staff of nearly 600 people and has gradually built a multidisciplinary research team with professors and Ph.D. holders as its core strength.
Over the past decade and more, SAAT has completed over a thousand research projects of various types, including special projects for the development of strategic emerging industries by the National Development and Reform Commission, international cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other units, as well as local provincial and municipal high-level talent introduction teams (Peacock Plan) and industrialization technology research projects, with funding amounting to several hundred million yuan. It has received one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, three First Prizes, two Second Prizes, and one Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, one First Prize of Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, and two Municipal Science and Technology Progress Awards. It has filed a total of 354 patent applications, including 36 PCT applications and 242 invention patents.
