China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Sixth Engineering Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned construction enterprise under China Railway Group Limited, a Fortune Global 500 company. It holds Grade I general contracting qualification for municipal engineering construction, Grade I specialized contracting qualification for railway track laying and girder erection engineering, Grade I specialized contracting qualification for bridge engineering, and Grade I specialized contracting qualification for tunnel engineering. The company is mainly engaged in track laying and bridge erection for high-speed railways, dedicated passenger railway lines and conventional railways, temporary management and transportation of new railway lines, construction of urban light rail and subway, prefabrication of large railway box girders and various T-shaped bridges, assembly and erection of steel girder bridges of various types, as well as construction of highways, water conservancy and municipal engineering.
The predecessor of the company was the New Line Railway Transportation Department of the Fifth Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways. It was established in Caiyuanba, Chongqing in June 1950 during the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Railway, and settled in Yubei District, Chongqing in 2008. The company currently has more than 1,800 employees, including more than 700 professional and technical personnel. It possesses more than 733 sets of large-scale machinery and equipment at home and abroad, including advanced track laying machines, bridge erection machines, large-scale mechanized track maintenance equipment, rail contact welding machines, locomotives and rolling stock.
