China Railway 17th Bureau Group 4th Engineering Co., Ltd., formerly the 34th Regiment of the 7th Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Railway Corps, was founded in 1952. In January 1984, it was collectively transferred to the Ministry of Railways and reorganized as the 4th Engineering Division of the 17th Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Railways; in December 1999, it was restructured into the 4th Engineering Division of China Railway 17th Engineering Bureau; in July 2002, the 4th Engineering Branch of China Railway 17th Bureau Group Corporation was established; in March 2003, it was placed under the administration of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council; in May 2005, through internal resource restructuring with Yuantong Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Group Corporation, it was renamed China Railway 17th Bureau Group 4th Engineering Co., Ltd. The company is located at Shangding Enterprise Park, No. 18 Honghu West Road, Northern New District, Chongqing.
The company is a national first-class construction enterprise, holding Grade I general contracting for highway engineering construction, Grade I general contracting for municipal public engineering construction, Grade II general contracting for water conservancy and hydropower engineering construction, Grade II general contracting for building construction, Grade III general contracting for railway engineering construction, Grade I specialized contracting for highway subgrade engineering, Grade I specialized contracting for bridge engineering, Grade I specialized contracting for tunnel engineering, and Grade B qualification for geological disaster control engineering construction, as well as the qualification for foreign contracting engineering operations. Its business areas cover domestic and international railway, highway, municipal, water conservancy and hydropower, housing construction, bridge, tunnel, urban rail transit, geological disaster control and other engineering projects.
