中国中医科学院针灸研究所是国家重大公益科研事业单位，也是我国针灸研究的*高机构，直属卫生部（国家中医药管理局）。具有生理机能、组织形态、生化和分子生物学、针灸医学工程、文献等研究部门和针灸医院，从事针灸作用原理、经络现象与实质、经穴特异性、经脉脏腑相关、针刺镇痛、经穴的生物物理特性、针灸医疗仪器研发等研究方向。承担国家973，支撑计划，国家中医药行业专项，国家自然科学基金等国家科研项目数十项。
