Founded in 1972, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Research Institute Co., Ltd. is the R&D headquarters of Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited. It is a new-type R&D institution in South China with complete disciplines, a pool of talents, distinctive features, strong innovation capabilities, and integration with industrialization, dedicated to drug research and development and technical services. It is also a national high-tech enterprise, a national science and technology resource sharing platform, one of the first batch of Guangdong Province new-type R&D institutions, one of the top 100 enterprises in Guangdong Province's science and technology service industry, a Guangdong Province integrity demonstration enterprise, a Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Small Giant enterprise, an intellectual property advantage enterprise in Guangzhou's pharmaceutical industry, and a demonstration enterprise in Guangzhou's science and technology service industry.
The Research Institute possesses six technology platforms including the "National Dog Laboratory Animal Resource Bank" and the National (Guangzhou) Key Laboratory for New Drug Safety Evaluation with GLP, AAALAC, and CMA certifications, 14 provincial-level technology platforms including a public technology service platform for traditional Chinese medicine testing and evaluation that meets international standards and a public R&D platform for 50% key technologies in Guangzhou's biopharmaceutical industry, and 12 municipal-level technology platforms including the Guangzhou Enterprise Key Laboratory for Novel Drug Delivery Technology of Pharmaceutical Preparations and the Beagle Quarantine Dog Training Center.
