Jiangsu Electric Power Company is a subsidiary of East China Power Grid Co., Ltd. It is mainly responsible for the operation, management, and construction of the provincial power grid in Jiangsu, undertaking the responsibility of promoting the optimal allocation of power resources in the province, and providing power security for Jiangsu's economic development and people's livelihood. The company currently has 57,153 employees and total assets of nearly 100 billion yuan. Jiangsu Electric Power Company has 13 municipal (prefecture-level) power supply companies and 63 county (district) power supply companies as branches across the province, and also manages and operates some infrastructure, repair and manufacturing, and research units. The Jiangsu Electric Power Test and Research Institute Co., Ltd., affiliated with the company, has developed into a comprehensive power test and research base with complete specialties, advanced facilities, strong technical capabilities, and a pool of talents. It is equipped with professional laboratories for power systems, high voltage, electrical, metering, thermal control, steam turbines, boilers, environmental protection, chemistry, materials, information, etc., and has established modern professional laboratories for high voltage, relay protection, power quality, infrared, measurement standards, vibration, metal materials, and oil/water/coal quality inspection. It possesses first-class computer network hardware, rich scientific and technological information resources, and good scientific research and office conditions. In October 2002, with the approval of the National Ministry of Personnel, the Postdoctoral Research Station of Jiangsu Electric Power Company was officially established. The workstation is located at Jiangsu Electric Power Test and Research Institute Co., Ltd. It is implemented by Jiangsu Provincial Electric Power Test and Research Institute under the leadership of the postdoctoral workstation leadership group of the provincial electric power company. Currently, there are 4 postdoctoral researchers in the station engaged in research on major scientific and technological projects of the company. In 2006, the station plans to recruit 1-2 postdoctoral researchers. The station eagerly hopes to cooperate closely with postdoctoral mobile stations in universities and research institutes to jointly cultivate postdoctoral researchers.
