Jiangsu Xugang Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (formerly Xuzhou Southeast Iron and Steel Industry Co., Ltd.) was established in 2003 and is located in Tongshan Economic Development Zone. It currently employs nearly 5,000 people. Its main production facilities include one 2,120 m³ blast furnace, one 1,280 m³ blast furnace, one 150-ton converter, one 120-ton converter, one 120-ton LF refining furnace, as well as supporting facilities for sintering, oxygen production, steel rolling, pelletizing, lime production, and power generation. The company mainly produces high-quality special steel bars and rebar products, with an annual crude steel output of 5 million tons and an output value of over 20 billion yuan. Over the past decade or so, the group has been honored as an Advanced Collective in the National Iron and Steel Industry, National Inspection-Free Product, Jiangsu Famous Brand Product, Qualified Unit for Clean Production, Jiangsu Province Contract-Abiding and Credit-Worthy Enterprise, Jiangsu Province Outstanding Enterprise, and one of China's Top 500 Private Manufacturing Enterprises, as well as receiving certificates for Work Safety Standardization and Xuzhou Mayor Quality Award. In December 2018, then-Governor Wu Zhenglong personally visited Xugang Group to provide guidance and instructed support for the group to become bigger and stronger. Since then, over three years, Xugang Group has achieved its strategic goal of transformation and upgrading by restructuring the steel production capacity of other enterprises.
