Chongqing Customs Technology Center

Chongqing Customs Technology Center (hereinafter referred to as the Technology Center) is a public welfare secondary institution approved by the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform. Its functions include undertaking laboratory testing, isolation and quarantine, chemical analysis and identification, research consulting, and risk analysis for inbound and outbound goods within the Chongqing Customs district; undertaking science and technology development and services, providing technical guidance, and carrying out the formulation and revision of relevant customs technical regulations and standards; and providing services such as entrusted inspection, testing, calibration, identification, certification, quarantine treatment, training, consulting, development, and transfer in accordance with relevant regulations. The Technology Center is among the first batch of accredited and recognized institutions of the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and has obtained qualifications including National Food Inspection (Re-inspection) Institution, National Import and Export Commodity Inspection and Identification Institution, National Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Testing Institution, Biosafety Level 2 Laboratory, National Soil Pollution Status Detailed Survey Laboratory, National Pollution-Free Agricultural Product Designated Testing Institution, Chongqing Social Environment Testing Institution, and Chongqing Procuratorial Organ Environmental Damage Public Interest Litigation Identification and Monitoring Institution. The Technology Center currently has 5 key laboratories in organic agricultural products, traditional Chinese medicinal materials, bovine diseases, electronic and electrical appliances, and hazardous chemicals, and 2 engineering centers in Chongqing food safety and imported terrestrial animals. At the same time, in combination with work platforms such as the Environment and Product Quality Testing Professional Committee of the Chongqing Analytical Testing Society, the Chongqing Large-Scale Scientific Instrument Resource Sharing Service Center Branch, the Chongqing Postdoctoral Research Workstation, the German TUV Rheinland Cooperative Laboratory, the Chongqing Inbound and Outbound Animal and Plant Quarantine and Species Resource Protection Experience Center (a science popularization base dual-recognized by Chongqing Municipality and the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine), and the Chongqing Cross-border E-commerce Security Risk Monitoring and Management Comprehensive Service Platform, as well as the 2 engineering centers in Chongqing food safety and imported terrestrial animals, it actively builds a customs law enforcement technical support, scientific and technological innovation and technology research and development, and public welfare testing and technical service platform. The testing capabilities of the Technology Center involve physical, chemical, microbiological, animal disease, pest identification, and chemical safety assessment projects for food, agricultural products, animals, plants and their products, chemical products, mineral products, feed, fertilizers, cosmetics, daily chemical products, textiles and clothing, toys, batteries, electronic and electrical products, soil and sediments, water, solid waste, etc. Its calibration capabilities include balances and weights, glass measuring instruments, pressure gauges, etc. The Technology Center's laboratories have a total of 52 major categories and 9,443 projects that have passed accreditation and qualification recognition. The current personnel of the Technology Center involve multiple disciplines and specialties such as biology, veterinary medicine, medicinal chemistry, microbial engineering, plant quarantine, environmental science, analytical chemistry, textile engineering, food engineering, genetically modified organism engineering, electronic and electrical testing, and law, and have formed a laboratory talent team with a complete range of specialties, excellent technology, a reasonable age and hierarchical structure, and high overall quality.
