Hongqi Community Health Service Center, Houjiatang Street, Yuhua District, Changsha City

Hongqi Community Health Service Center of Houjiatang Street is a non-profit primary hospital established under the unified planning of the municipal and district health and family planning bureaus and jointly founded with Houjiatang Street. It is subordinate to the Yuhua District Health and Family Planning Bureau. It is a designated unit for urban employee medical insurance and resident medical insurance in Changsha City. In August 2017, it was officially included as a designated unit for urban employee medical insurance in Hunan Province. It is a counterpart support unit and clinical teaching base of Hunan Provincial People's Hospital.
The center is located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Ziyuan Road and Chengnan Middle Road. Its predecessor was Houjiatang Health Center, founded in the 1960s. With the care and support of departments at all levels, it has developed into a facility with more than 2,000 square meters and a total of 58 staff members.
The center undertakes basic medical services and basic public health services. Basic medical services include rehabilitation wards, general practice clinics, Chinese and Western pharmacies, traditional Chinese medicine specialty clinics, gynecology clinics, rehabilitation massage and physiotherapy, color ultrasound and electrocardiography, laboratory testing, and myopia restoration for primary and secondary school students. It is equipped with advanced equipment such as Doppler detectors, X-ray imaging devices, dynamic electrocardiogram detectors, fully automated biochemical analyzers, blood cell counters, color ultrasound, electrocardiograms, and bone density detectors, and can properly handle chronic diseases, common diseases, and frequently occurring diseases in the community. National basic public health services include 14 major categories: preventive vaccination, maternal and child health care, management of children aged 0-6, traditional Chinese medicine health management, resident health management, elderly management, chronic disease management, mental illness management, health supervision, tuberculosis management, distribution of family planning contraceptives, health literacy promotion actions, and family doctor contracted services. It is a grassroots community health service institution integrating prevention, medical treatment, health care, rehabilitation, health education, and family planning guidance.
Medical insurance benefit policies and family doctor-style services are key promotional measures of this center to reduce the burden of medical expenses on the public and improve the quality of healthy living. With the goal of "minor illnesses in the community, major illnesses in hospitals" and the principle of "patient-centered, health-oriented," this center will strive to advance community health undertakings, thoroughly address the public's difficulties in accessing and affording medical care, and become a guardian of the people's health.
