Beijing Hyundai Tandis Transmission Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Mobis Transmission Co., Ltd.) was established on March 21, 2003. It is a foreign-invested joint venture jointly invested by Hyundai Tandis Co., Ltd. of South Korea, Hyundai Motor Company of South Korea, Kia Corporation of South Korea, and Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. The company is located at No. 2 Jiachuang Road, Opto-Mechatronics Industrial Base, Tongzhou Park of Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Tongzhou District, Beijing, covering a total area of 200,000 square meters. The first-phase plant covers an area of 18,000 square meters with an annual production capacity of 230,000 transmissions. The second-phase plant covers an area of 29,683 square meters with an annual production capacity of 300,000 transmissions. The third-phase plant covers an area of 16,850 square meters with an annual production capacity of 200,000 transmissions. In 2016, the company started construction of the fourth plant for 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), with a total investment of RMB 900 million and a plant area of approximately 37,000 square meters, with an expected annual production capacity of 250,000 transmissions. Currently, the company's annual production capacity is nearly one million transmissions.
