北京现代汽车有限公司，成立于2002年10月18日，是中国加入WTO后被批准的*个汽车生产领域的中外合资项目。被确定为振兴北京的现代制造业、发展首都经济的龙头项目和示范工程。公司由北京汽车投资有限公司和韩国现代自动车株式会社共同出资设立，注册资本12.19亿美元，总投资31.02亿美元。

北京现代坐落于顺义区北京汽车生产基地，目前已拥有三座整车生产工厂、三座发动机生产工厂，一座承担自主研发的技术中心，年产销超过100万辆，畅销车型主要有全新胜达、IX35、第八代索纳塔、MISTRA名图、朗动、悦动、伊兰特、瑞纳等13款车型。北京现代工厂先进技术水平、自动化程度都位居国内乘用车生产企业前列。
