The Open University of China Press Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Press") was established in October 1982. It is a comprehensive university press supervised by the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Open University of China (formerly China Central Radio and TV University). Over the past 30+ years since its establishment, the Press has always adhered to the publishing policy of serving the people and serving socialism, and has consistently upheld its mission of serving the teaching and research of the Open University of China. Closely following the reform and development of the Open University of China's educational undertakings, the Press has continuously explored a development path suited to its own characteristics, gradually forming a development pattern that serves open education, distance education, vocational education, and lifelong learning. Its business scope covers books, electronic and internet publishing, training, resource services, and logistics distribution. With the vigorous development of the Open University of China's educational undertakings, the Press's service capabilities and overall strength have been continuously enhanced. The Press has an annual publishing scale of over a thousand book titles, approximately 2.2 million electronic publications per year, and an annual distribution value of 550 million RMB. Its overall economic scale ranks seventh among university presses nationwide. It is one of the national "second batch" demonstration units for digital publishing transformation and a pilot unit for the national digital compound publishing system engineering. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, five projects were selected into the national key book publication plan, and nearly 200 textbooks were selected into the Ministry of Education's national planning textbooks for vocational education during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period. Numerous books have won various awards at different levels, such as "China Influential Books" and "Beijing Higher Education Excellent Textbooks." The project "Digital Learning Resource Cloud Service Platform and Support System Construction" was selected into the 2015 National Press and Publication Reform and Development Project Library and also received special funding from the Ministry of Finance's 2015 Cultural Industry Development Special Fund.
