The National Museum of China is the highest historical and cultural art palace that comprehensively showcases China's excellent traditional culture, revolutionary culture, and advanced socialist culture. It plays an important platform role in the collection and preservation of cultural relics, exhibitions, social education, scientific research, and external historical and cultural exchanges. The National Museum of China houses over 1.4 million collections, of which nearly 6,000 are national first-class cultural relics, concretely reflecting the continuous lineage of the Chinese nation over 5,000 years, the unremitting struggle of over 170 years, the arduous exploration since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago, especially the 40 years of reform and opening up, and the vigorous efforts since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the National Museum of China, based on its rich collections, expands research fields, innovates research methods, deeply explores historical and cultural resources, organically unifies the promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the development of contemporary culture, innovates in inheritance, and develops in innovation. Approved by the National Postdoctoral Management Committee of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Postdoctoral Research Workstation of the National Museum of China was established in August 2013 (Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Document [2013] No. 61).
