Beijing General Municipal Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Beijing Municipal Engineering General Institute") was founded in 1955, completed its transformation to an enterprise in 2013, restructured Beijing Survey and Design Research Institute in 2014, merged with Beijing Holdings Group Co., Ltd. in 2016, and invested in Hong Kong-listed company Sunchit Holdings Limited in 2017, entering the international capital market. It has 12 wholly-owned and holding enterprises and 6 major equity-participating enterprises. The institute holds Class A qualifications for engineering design (comprehensive), engineering survey (comprehensive), urban and rural planning compilation, and Grade I qualification for municipal public works construction general contracting. It is a modern consulting and design group focusing on consulting and design, with comprehensive technical service capabilities covering the entire lifecycle of engineering projects. In the field of urban infrastructure, it serves national strategies and the functional positioning of the capital, and with a global high-end perspective, is committed to world-class integrated urban technology services, providing industry-leading "one-stop, multi-field, all-round" comprehensive solutions. The institute has successively won titles such as "National High-tech Enterprise", "Zhongguancun National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone Ten-Hundred-Thousand Project Enterprise", "National Advanced Enterprise in Engineering Survey and Design", and "Beijing Design Innovation Center". It has been rated as "Beijing Trustworthy Enterprise" 11 times consecutively, and has been rated as "AAA Credit Unit" and "A-level Taxpayer" for 10 consecutive years. It serves as the vice-chairman unit of China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization, the chairman unit of the Municipal Branch, and the supporting unit for over ten important academic associations in the industry. It has been recognized as the "Beijing Urban Bridge Safety Assurance Engineering Technology Research Center", "Beijing Water Supply Water Quality Engineering Technology Research Center", "Beijing Environmental Geotechnical Engineering Technology Research Center", and "Beijing Road and Municipal Pipeline Underground Disease Engineering Technology Research Center".
