湖南师范大学（Hunan Normal University），简称“湖南师大”，位于湖南省长沙市，入选首批国家“211工程”重点建设大学、国家“双一流”建设高校、教育部与湖南省重点共建的部省共建“双一流”建设高校，入选国家“111计划。
医学院坐落在岳麓山北面的湖南师范大学咸嘉湖校区，南靠风光秀丽的西湖公园，北临繁华热闹的金星路与桐梓坡路的商业区，占地面积168亩，校园闹中取静，设施完备，四季如画。学院拥有基础医学一级学科博士学位点，生物卫生统计学二级学科博士学位点，有临床医学、护理学、公共卫生与预防医学、基础医学、药学、医学技术等6个一级学科硕士学位点。设有生理学博士后流动站和基础医学一级学科博士后流动站。
