Hubei Gelin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is one of the large pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises directly under the Provincial Drug Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Company). It is located at No. 1 Dongfeng Avenue, Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, adjacent to Sixin Park at the intersection of Longyang Avenue and Sixin Avenue. The Company mainly engages in the wholesale and distribution of Chinese medicinal materials, traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, Chinese patent medicines, chemical pharmaceutical preparations, antibiotic preparations, biochemical drugs, chemical API, biological products, medical devices, cosmetics, disinfection products, and health food. The Company has a registered capital of 90 million RMB and an operating area of approximately 20,000 square meters, of which the warehousing area is approximately 10,000 square meters.
In June 2014, the Company passed the new GSP certification in one go, becoming one of the top four large pharmaceutical wholesale enterprises in Hubei Province to pass the new GSP certification of the Hubei Provincial Food and Drug Administration in one go. The Company maintains a year-round inventory of approximately 80 million RMB worth of various drugs, medicinal materials, medical devices, and health food, totaling more than 9,000 varieties and specifications, and enjoys a good reputation in the industry for its features of "complete varieties, favorable prices, fast distribution, and good service".
As of the end of August 2016, the Company had 379 employees; 47% held associate degrees or bachelor's degrees or above; 33% were pharmaceutical-related professionals; 6.8% held various intermediate and senior professional titles. The Company has eight major departments: Sales Department, Purchasing Department, Quality Management Department, Network Center, Warehousing Department, Finance Department, Administration and Human Resources Department, and Fleet, which work together to provide coordination and support, perform departmental functions with their respective responsibilities, and generate synergy to jointly promote the Company's development.
The Company's business is primarily terminal-oriented, with purchasing and sales networks in more than 20 provinces, cities, and districts across the country. In Hubei Province, it has business dealings with more than 2,000 medical institutions and distributes drugs for more than 700 community service centers (stations), township health centers, and other secondary and lower-level primary medical institutions across the province. It has nearly 400 exclusive agency varieties and more than 1,000 direct cooperative distributors, and has become long-term stable trading partners with nearly 5,000 pharmaceutical trading enterprises and medical units nationwide.
In 2010, it was awarded the honorable title of "Top 20 Pharmaceutical Trading Enterprises in Hubei Province" by six departments including the Provincial Economic and Information Commission and the Provincial Drug Administration. In 2011, the Company's annual sales reached nearly 1.5 billion RMB, with taxes and profits reaching 60 million RMB, and it was rated as one of the "Top 10 Pharmaceutical Trading Enterprises in Hubei Province" by seven departments including the Provincial Economic and Information Commission, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and the Provincial Department of Commerce. Chairman Mr. Wu Qibin was named one of the ninth "Top Ten Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Wuhan" and "2011 Most Respected and Loved Entrepreneur by Citizens".
With the continuous rapid and healthy development of the enterprise, in 2012 the Company's sales reached 608 million RMB, among which, in 103 counties and cities across the province excluding Wuhan, the business coverage rate was 95%, with a total of 4,859 customers, including more than 3,000 medical institutions. In 2013, the Company improved its sales performance on the basis of its original business and planned to achieve sales revenue of 720 million RMB. In 2015, the Company's sales reached 820 million RMB. In 103 counties and cities across the province excluding Wuhan, the business coverage rate was 95%. In 2016, the Company improved its sales performance on the basis of its original business and planned to achieve a sales growth of 3.6%. It also expects sales to break the 1 billion RMB mark within the next two years, actively responds to the requirements of the national new GSP laws and regulations, strictly controls drug quality, provides good pharmaceutical services to the general public, pays attention to people's livelihood medical care, and contributes to the green pharmaceutical cause.
