Founded in 1970 and located in the Caobejing High-Tech Park, Shanghai Institute of Laser Technology is a municipal research institute transformed into an enterprise, specializing in the application development of laser technology. It is one of the first batch of high-tech enterprises recognized and a Shanghai civilized unit.
Shanghai Institute of Laser Technology is dedicated to R&D, production, sales, and technical services in laser optoelectronic technologies and products, including laser direct marking for traceability, multimedia artistic laser, laser processing, laser biomedical equipment, laser optical components, laser holography and anti-counterfeiting. It provides laser application solutions and testing services to related industries. Products are targeted at domestic and international markets, with some exported to Europe, the Americas, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions.
After more than 40 years of hard work, Shanghai Institute of Laser Technology has accumulated technical and talent advantages in the field of laser applications, achieved a large number of important scientific research results, and expanded the application of laser technology to areas such as information electronics, advanced manufacturing, new materials, energy and environmental protection, modern agriculture, public safety, and science education, promoting the advancement of laser technology and industrial development. It has successively undertaken and completed over 380 national and municipal science and technology projects, won more than 130 science and technology awards, and obtained 92 patent authorizations, including 23 invention patents.
Our institute serves as the supporting unit for R&D institutions such as the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Laser Beam Fine Processing, Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Laser Medical Equipment, Shanghai Engineering Research Center for Laser Direct Marking Traceability, Shanghai Laser Creative Industry Professional Technical Service Platform, and China Shanghai Testing Center Laser Industry Testing Site. It is the director unit of the Laser Processing Professional Committee of the Chinese Optical Society, the vice-chairman unit of the China Optoelectronics Industry Association, the vice-chairman unit of the Shanghai Laser Society, and publishes the Chinese core journal "Applied Laser".
