China Electrical Equipment Group Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as China Electrical Equipment) was formed through the restructuring and integration of China XD Group Co., Ltd. with XJ Group Co., Ltd., Pinggao Group Co., Ltd., Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group Co., Ltd., etc., which are affiliated with the State Grid Corporation of China. It is an important state-owned backbone enterprise supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).

China Electrical Equipment owns seven listed companies, including China XD Electric (601179.SH), XJ Electric (000400.SZ), Pinggao Electric (600312.SH), Hongsheng Huayuan (601096.SH), Baobian Electric (600550.SH), Baoguang Shares (600379.SH), and Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute (688334.SH). It also has 20 innovation platforms such as the National Key Laboratory of Transmission and Transformation Equipment Technology, 8 quality testing centers, 1 academician workstation, and 6 postdoctoral research workstations. It undertakes the centralized management of standards for the domestic transmission and distribution industry, as well as the domestic centralized management of several technical committees (sub-technical committees) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The number of valid patents obtained is 12,083, with 6,067 invention patents. It has participated in the formulation and revision of a total of 1,890 international standards, national standards, industry standards, and group standards, and has received 1,677 honors and awards for scientific and technological projects at the provincial and ministerial level or above (including awards from key industry associations and societies). Nearly 1,800 key new products and new technologies have reached the international leading or advanced level in comprehensive performance, 53 pieces of technical equipment have been included in the first (set) catalogue of the National Energy Administration, and 14 achievements have been included in the "Recommended Catalogue of Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements of Central Enterprises".

China Electrical Equipment focuses on source-grid-load-storage integration, applies advanced technologies such as "big data, cloud computing, IoT, mobile internet, artificial intelligence, and blockchain", actively carries out high-end technology research, and focuses on breaking through key technical barriers such as ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage, achieving the development and application of the first domestically manufactured complete sets of equipment. It has successively provided complete sets of equipment and services for domestic ultra-high voltage construction, and key national projects such as the "Three Gorges Project" and the "Baihetan Project", strongly supporting the localization of key equipment, breaking many foreign technological monopolies, and creating many world firsts. Its industrial bases are spread all over the world, and its products, technologies, standards, and services have been exported to more than a hundred countries and regions, forming a transmission and distribution industry layout with a global market perspective.

China Electrical Equipment, with the overall layout of "smart electrical, systematic services, and efficient energy", practices the corporate mission of "empowering smart electrical and creating green energy", accelerates the construction of the group's central research institute, builds the original technology source and the leader of the modern industrial chain, focuses on high-end electrical equipment manufacturing and comprehensive solutions, and is based in the fields of power generation, transmission, transformation, distribution, and consumption, as well as other fields such as integrated energy services, energy storage, rail transit, industrial automation, and the strategic emerging industry fields extending to the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.
