宁波银行成立于1997年4月10日，2007年7月成为国内首批A股上市的城商行之一，目前已经发展成为一家资产净额超1862亿元，总资产超2万亿元，员工人数近2.4万人的区域性股份制上市银行。2021年全球银行1000强中排名第103位，较上一年度上升7位。2021年10月15日被评选为19家国内系统重要性银行之一。目前已在上海、杭州、南京、深圳、苏州、北京、无锡、温州、金华、绍兴、台州、嘉兴、丽水、湖州、衢州和舟山设立16家分行，营业网点400余家。宁波银行舟山分行是宁波银行跨区域设立的第16家异地一级分行，于2021年2月20日正式营业。
