Jiangxi Qiushi Institute for Advanced Study is a new type of research institution jointly established by Zhejiang University and the Nanchang Municipal People's Government. It focuses precisely on the direction of "Optoelectronics + AI", centering on frontier scientific and industrial application directions such as advanced optical display, intelligent photonic chips, autonomous trusted navigation, and intelligent graphics and image technology and applications. Through software-hardware synergy and optoelectronic integration, it accelerates the landing and application of industry-university-research achievements and promotes regional technological and industrial innovation.
I. Development History and Positioning
1. Background of Establishment
The institute originated from the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Nanchang City and Zhejiang University in December 2020. In February 2022, it was officially approved for establishment by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. In June 2022, it was renamed Jiangxi Qiushi Institute for Advanced Study, but externally it still retains the brand identity of "Zhejiang University Nanchang Institute". As an important scientific research fulcrum of Zhejiang University in the central region, the institute is based in Nanchang, oriented toward Jiangxi, interacts between Jiangxi and Zhejiang, and co-cultivates talent. It closely revolves around the "1269" and "8810" action plans, combines Zhejiang University's advantages in scientific research, talent, and disciplines, and helps local scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
