Changjiang Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd. was established in January 1993. It originated from the Comprehensive Survey Bureau of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission and is now affiliated with Changjiang Design Group Co., Ltd. The company holds multiple Class A qualifications, including Grade I General Contracting for Water Conservancy and Hydropower Construction, Class A Comprehensive Engineering Survey, Class A Engineering Surveying and Mapping, and Class A qualifications for geological disaster treatment engineering survey, design, and construction, as well as geological disaster risk assessment. It has also obtained the business license for foreign contracting of overseas water conservancy and hydropower projects and domestic international bidding projects from the Ministry of Commerce. The company is headquartered in Wuhan and has six functional departments: the Comprehensive Department (Party Committee Office), Business Planning Department, International Project Department, Technical Quality Department (including Archives and Records Room), Safety Management Department, and Finance and Assets Department. It also has six secondary units: Geological Company, Surveying and Mapping Company, Wuhan Branch, Libya Branch, Surveying and Mapping Company, and Engineering Technology R&D Center. In addition, it has established business branches and offices in multiple provinces and cities across the country. Over the decades, with advanced technology and strong capabilities, the company has undertaken and completed surveying, engineering geological investigation, engineering construction, and scientific research for more than 60 major national water conservancy and hydropower projects, including the Three Gorges Water Conservancy Hub, the Three Gorges Reservoir Area Geological Disaster Prevention and Control Project, the South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project, the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project, the Danjiangkou Dam Heightening Project, Goupitan Hydropower Station, Pengshui Hydropower Station, Yinpan Hydropower Station, Baima Hydropower Station, Gushan Hydropower Station, Siping Hydropower Station, Tingzikou Water Conservancy Hub, Huangjinxia Water Conservancy Hub, Zaoshi Water Conservancy Hub, important levee projects in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the Dongting Lake and Honghu Flood Diversion and Storage Projects, achieving fruitful results.
