The site of Changsha International Conference Center is located in the Changsha High-speed Rail New Town, on the east bank of the Liuyang River, adjacent to the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center, playing a supporting role in the integrated development of conferences and exhibitions. It comprehensively meets the needs of large-scale state events, specialized academic conferences, diversified business activities and other medium-to-high-end conference activities. The chief designer of the conference center is He Jingtang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering known as the "Father of Chinese Pavilions." The architectural facade style draws on the expressive techniques of Chinese landscape painting, such as "mutual generation of virtuality and reality," "combination of near and far," and "varied brushwork," combined with the dynamic curved shapes of traditional sloped roofs, vividly interpreting the essence of Chinese culture in both form and spirit. It also draws on the agility and elegance of mountains and waters in the ancient guqin piece and Chinese painting "Xiaoxiang Shuiyun," and combines the Liuyang River, Mopan Zhou and the High-speed Rail New Town to highlight the "mountain, water, island and city" urban landscape of Changsha. The total planned land area of the conference center is 212,686 square meters, the total construction area is approximately 168,056 square meters, the underground construction area is approximately 123,850 square meters, and the building height is 49.8 meters. The conference center mainly includes a 7,800-square-meter main venue, an 1,800-square-meter roundtable conference hall, a 3,500-square-meter banquet hall, as well as various multi-function halls, meeting rooms, reception rooms, exhibition halls, and a press center, totaling 60 halls and rooms.
