The company is a wholly state-owned subsidiary established by Wuhan Port and Shipping Development Group Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 300 million yuan.
In order to seize the opportunities of the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt development strategy, the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Hubei Provincial Government made a major decision to integrate the port and shipping resources along the Yangtze River within the province. With a joint investment of 7 billion yuan from the people's governments of Wuhan, Huangshi, Ezhou, Huanggang and Xianning, Wuhan Port and Shipping Development Group Co., Ltd. was established. On July 11, 2016, at the eighth Party Committee meeting of Wuhan Port and Shipping Development Group Co., Ltd. in 2016, it was formally proposed to actively explore the "Internet + Port and Shipping" action, set up a special working team, and carry out preliminary research. On April 28, 2017, the board of directors of Wuhan Port and Shipping Development Group Co., Ltd. agreed to establish the company.
