Chongqing Jingmei Denture Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is the Prosthodontics Technology Department of the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Its predecessor was the Denture Manufacturing Center of Chongqing Stomatological Hospital. In July 1955, Chongqing Stomatological Hospital was established, and the Denture Manufacturing Center was also founded as part of the Department of Orthodontics. With the development of medical technology and the refinement of departmental functions, in 1991 the Department of Orthodontics was subdivided into the Department of Prosthodontics and the Department of Orthodontics, and the Denture Manufacturing Center was affiliated with the Department of Prosthodontics. In 2001, the Denture Manufacturing Center became independent from the Department of Prosthodontics and formally became an independent department. In September 2006, the hospital decided to rename the Denture Manufacturing Center as the Prosthodontics Technology Department and, on this basis, established Chongqing Jingmei Denture Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In the same year, the company passed the review of the Chongqing Food and Drug Administration and obtained the Production License and Registration Certificate for custom-made dentures. With the approval of the higher competent authorities, it was officially inaugurated in March 2008. Since 2009, a quality management system has been established and maintained in effective operation in accordance with the requirements of GB/T19001-2008 and YY/T0287-2003. Relying on the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, the company (department) has formed a technical team pursuing development and innovation. The company (department) currently has more than 190 employees, including 2 Ph.D.s, 3 master's degree holders, and 86 bachelor's degree holders (the proportion of those with college degrees or above exceeds 70%). After years of development, the company (department) has established a CAD/CAM digital center of considerable scale and influence. The center currently has more than 10 dental data acquisition units of various types (including well-known brands such as Denmark's 3Shape, Canada's Nobel Procera, and South Korea's DOF); it is equipped with more than 30 digital subtractive and additive manufacturing devices of various types (including Germany's Conceptlaser Mlab/M2 metal printers, the US 3D System/Israel 260VS resin printer, and well-known brands such as Germany's Wieland mini, Japan's DWX-50/DWX-4W, and South Korea's Manix-4), forming a comprehensive service team for data registration, design, and processing with industry strength. With the help of the CAD/CAM digital platform, the company (department) has obtained registration and production licenses for products such as custom-made dentures, orthodontic appliances (fixed appliances, removable appliances, retainers), 3D printing (fixed dentures, removable dentures), and implant guides, and has extensively carried out the production of custom-made products in multiple digital sectors including prosthodontics, orthodontics, and implantation. At present, the company's (department's) business covers nearly 500 medical institutions in more than 20 provinces (municipalities/autonomous regions), including Chongqing and the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. As an important teaching unit of the School of Stomatology of Chongqing Medical University, the company (department) also undertakes theoretical, experimental, and internship teaching tasks for students of various grades in stomatology and dental technology (including graduate students, residents in standardized training, undergraduates, and visiting scholars), and in recent years has cultivated a large number of practical and innovative talents for the industry. At the same time, the company (department) also actively carries out various scientific research work. In the past five years, personnel of the company (department) have presided over or participated in 2 national-level scientific research projects, presided over 2 provincial and ministerial-level projects, 2 bureau and department-level projects (including teaching projects), and 2 university-level projects (including teaching projects). More than 30 scientific research papers have been published as first author or corresponding author (including more than 20 SCI papers and more than 10 Chinese papers (including 5 teaching papers)). It has participated in the compilation/translation of 3 textbooks published by People's Medical Publishing House, and served as chief editor for 2 university-level self-compiled textbooks; it has obtained 10 authorized patents (including 1 national invention patent, 8 utility model patents, and 1 design patent).
