Zhongzi Science Research Institute (Chongqing) is a new-type R&D institution jointly built by Fenglin Nuclear and Western (Chongqing) Science City, mainly engaged in basic and applied basic research, technology development, and industrial transformation of neutron science and technology. Fenglin Nuclear Group is mainly engaged in the R&D of advanced nuclear systems and interdisciplinary applications of nuclear technology. Its development history can be traced back to the 1980s, with a core team of more than 800 people, 80% of whom hold doctoral degrees. It has become an innovative team guided by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and renowned international academicians, with leading talents such as chief scientists of the National "973" Program, project leaders of the National Key R&D Program, and heads of new industrialization institutions, and with a backbone of high-level young and middle-aged scientific and technological talents. Fenglin Nuclear has undertaken more than 200 important domestic and international projects, including the National "973"/"863" Programs, the National Key R&D Program, the Major Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Magnetic Confinement Nuclear Fusion Special Project, the Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Program, cooperation programs with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Energy Agency (IEA), and major industrialization special projects, and has achieved a number of original scientific and technological achievements with world-leading levels. It has won more than 20 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, including the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the National Energy Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award, and the Anhui Provincial Major Science and Technology Achievement Award. It has also won international awards such as the Outstanding Achievement Award of the American Nuclear Society, the European Fusion Nuclear Energy Innovation Award, and the International Fusion Nuclear Technology Outstanding Contribution Award. Facing the world's scientific and technological frontiers, the main economic battlefield, the major national needs, and people's life and health, Fenglin Nuclear has always adhered to "doing useful scientific research", focused on neutron science and technology, actively promoted the application of scientific and technological achievements, and independently developed the "Cloud Light Treasure Knife" series of innovative technologies represented by the "Fenglin Cloud" intelligent nuclear science and technology software, the "Neutron Light" precision nuclear detection equipment, the "Nuclear Power Treasure" advanced nuclear energy system, and the "Kylin Knife" precision radiotherapy system.
