Hubei Bio

Wuhan Institute of Biotechnology is located in Biolake of East Lake National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. It was established by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government by integrating advantageous resources from Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other institutions. It is mainly engaged in applied research and development of biotechnology, professional services and commercialization of research results, providing technical support for enterprises' independent innovation and industrial transformation. It is the central research institute of the biomedical industry in Wuhan, Hubei. The institute has a building area of 60,000 square meters, with six major research centers, a public service platform and a pilot-scale transformation platform.

The Public Technology Service Platform was initiated by Wuhan Institute of Biotechnology and jointly invested and constructed by Hubei Province, Wuhan City and Wuhan East Lake National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone. Established in 2012, after years of continuous functional integration and hardware improvement, it has successively obtained the CNAS accreditation certificate issued by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment and the CMA qualification accreditation certificate issued by the State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Up to now, it has been built into one of the biotechnology service platforms in Hubei Province and even Central China with the most advanced instruments and equipment, the most comprehensive service items, the widest range of fields involved and the most professional testing and analysis team.
The platform is located in Building B5, Bioinnovation Park, Biolake, with a total building area of 5,000 square meters, equipment investment of nearly 100 million yuan, and more than 440 sets of various instruments and equipment. It has six professional technical service platforms: gene sequencing and analysis, high-throughput screening, biological mass spectrometry detection and analysis, structural biology, high-speed cell sorting and microscopic imaging, and biological fermentation and preparation. It has introduced a service team composed of 30 capable full-time technical personnel, providing comprehensive professional technical services externally, including testing commissions, project commissions, instrument rental, technical training, and scientific research cooperative development.
The platform fully integrates advantageous scientific and technological resources of the biotechnology industry chain, establishes a professional management and service team, reduces the early-stage risks of biological R&D and industrialization, and reduces the research and development, testing and analysis costs of enterprises and scientific research teams. It provides professional, convenient and centralized technical support and services for R&D and testing, commercialization of research results, and animal experiments of biopharmaceutical, bioagricultural and bioservice enterprises. At the same time, we have established close cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign universities, research institutes and enterprises. At present, we serve nearly 500 domestic and foreign biology-related enterprises and scientific research teams, covering 18 provinces, municipalities and directly administered cities and more than 30 cities across the country, with cumulative transformation of more than 100 scientific and technological achievements.
