财富证券成立于2002年8月，由原湖南省信托投资公司和湖南省国际信托投资公司整合其证券资产脱胎而来，初始注册资本为5.36亿元。2006年10月，经中国证监会批准，公司增资扩股到21.36亿元。资本规模和资产质量大幅度提升至国内同业的前列水平。截止2009年底公司总资产已达100亿元，净资产27亿元，净资本逾16亿元，为全国31家规范类券商之一。
