Yunnan Hongta Plastic Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture registered in March 1996. After restructuring in 2000, it gradually became a wholly foreign-owned enterprise. The company is located in central Yunnan with convenient transportation, only 98 kilometers from the provincial capital Kunming via expressway. It is situated in the High-tech Development Zone of Yuxi City, adjacent to the leading tobacco company - Hongta Group.
The company's business scope includes the production and sales of BOPP film. The main products are high-speed cigarette packaging BOPP film, special film, and flat film, mainly sold to more than 40 cigarette factories in the province and other regions, as well as the coastal areas. The sales network covers one-third of the provinces and cities in China, with an annual production capacity of 28,000 tons, making it the largest BOPP manufacturer in western China and one of the most competitive in the country. While growing and strengthening, the company continues to develop towards diversification and group management.
In April 2006, the company acquired Yunnan Yuxi Innovation Color Printing Co., Ltd., expanding its business scope to include the processing and sales of various packaging boxes, printing technology research, technical collaboration, and color printing. The main products include food color printing packaging boxes, liquid milk color printing packaging boxes, liquid beverage color printing packaging boxes, pharmaceutical boxes, and cigarette packaging boxes.
In March 2008, the company cooperated with Shanghai Green New Cigarette Packaging Materials Technology Co., Ltd. to establish Yunnan Dexin Paper Co., Ltd., developing laser transfer paper avoidance technology, pre-printed cursor positioning transfer technology, and water-based film transfer technology, which have been successfully promoted and applied in the tobacco supporting industry. The main products include laser transfer paper, aluminum-sprayed gold card paper, liquid packaging paper, and film-coated composite paper.
To make the company more competitive, in 2007, it invested 300 million yuan to build a new BOPP production line with an annual output of 32,000 tons in the High-tech Development Zone, Wenjiang District, Chengdu. With this, the company's total annual BOPP production capacity will reach 60,000 tons, enabling it to rank among the top ten domestic BOPP enterprises, greatly enhancing the competitiveness of the Hongsu brand.
Currently, the company's registered capital in Yuxi, Yunnan alone amounts to 483.57 million yuan, covering an area of 158 mu, with 816 employees, including 142 professional and technical personnel of various types, and 450 personnel with doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and college degrees, making it an influential local enterprise.
