Schlumberger entered China as early as 1980, providing oilfield technical services. With steady development, we have formed four business groups: Digital & Integration, Reservoir & Enhancement, Production Systems, and Well Construction, covering all major areas of the industry. In 2000, the Beijing Geoscience Center was established in Tsinghua Science Park, dedicated to developing digital solutions for the energy industry, supporting the digital transformation of both Schlumberger and the entire industry. In 2005, the equipment manufacturing center and Asia procurement hub were set up in Shanghai, forming a complete industrial chain integrating R&D, procurement, manufacturing, and sales in China.

Schlumberger China is committed to providing comprehensive technology and services for the design, development, and delivery of oil and gas operations. Headquartered in Beijing, its operational bases include Tanggu in Tianjin, Huizhou in Guangdong, Chengdu in Sichuan, Korla in Xinjiang, and Jingbian in Shaanxi. Leveraging its strengths, the company has formed an integrated service system based on four major groups—Digital & Integration, Reservoir & Enhancement, Production Systems, and Well Construction—comprising 16 professional departments.

The Schlumberger Qingpu R&D and Manufacturing Center (QTC), established in 2005, is part of the Schlumberger Technology Center. With five production centers in Qingpu, it provides various oilfield service equipment such as completion, drilling, and perforating guns. Now, QTC has two plants with over 850 employees, and is expected to become Schlumberger's primary manufacturing base in Asia, expanding to 1,500 employees.

The Schlumberger Beijing Geoscience Center (BGC), established in 2000, is located in Innovation Tower of Tsinghua Science Park, adjacent to Tsinghua University. It has developed into one of Shlumberger's major global digital R&D centers. BGC employs about 300 people from 16 countries, two-thirds of whom hold master's or doctoral degrees in software, working alongside technical experts to directly support Schlumberger's and the energy industry's digital transformation. BGC's mission is to fully leverage its software engineering capabilities and Schlumberger's deep industry knowledge to produce pioneering digital solutions that deliver maximum value to clients. To this end, BGC has invested heavily in frontier software development and digital technologies (such as AI and machine learning, IoT, cloud applications, microservices architecture, automated testing, and CI/CD). Additionally, BGC provides comprehensive training systems, fostering an innovation-driven work environment to invest in and cultivate talent for the energy industry.
