KONE Elevators Co., Ltd. was registered and established in Kunshan, China in December 1996, and is the main elevator and escalator manufacturing base of KONE Group in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2013, the new KONE industrial park and R&D center, covering an area of approximately 240,000 square meters, officially opened in Kunshan. It is KONE's largest and most powerful production and R&D base in the world. In addition to meeting domestic demand, KONE's products are exported to more than 90 countries and regions including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Middle East.
By the end of 2014, KONE China had nearly 10,300 employees, 50 branches, 368 service sites, and 60 sales offices.
