Chongqing Jianshe Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is a large Sino-Japanese joint venture jointly funded by Chongqing Jianshe Electromechanical Co., Ltd. (formerly Chongqing Jianshe Industry Co., Ltd.) and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. of Japan, and was approved for establishment by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government in November 1992. The company has a registered capital of USD 65 million and a total investment of USD 81 million, covers an area of 450 mu, has more than 1,600 employees, produces more than 400,000 high- and mid-range motorcycles annually, and exports to more than one hundred countries and regions, serving as Yamaha's overseas export base.
