Shanghai Outong Electrical Co., Ltd. is a Sino-American joint venture established in July 1997 with the approval of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, with a registered capital of USD 8.455 million. The company's main business is the design, production, sales, and export of high and low voltage complete switchgear equipment, and it is a designated manufacturer of high and low voltage complete switchgear equipment by the State Economic and Trade Commission, Sinopec, and PetroChina. The company holds production licenses for high and low voltage switchgear issued by the former Ministry of Machinery Industry and the Ministry of Electric Power, as well as a metrology certificate issued by the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. Located in the Jiangqiao Industrial Development Zone of Jiading, Shanghai, the company covers an area of 40,000 square meters with a building area of 15,000 square meters. It currently has nearly 220 employees, including over 40 middle and senior technical and management personnel. The company has an annual production capacity of 7,500 low voltage cabinets and 3,000 high voltage cabinets. The company is equipped with high-precision Japanese AMADA CNC sheet metal processing centers (CNC turret punch presses, CNC hydraulic shearing machines, CNC hydraulic bending machines, universal notching machines, etc.), Japanese Murata sheet metal flexible automatic processing lines (FMS) (including automatic feeding, inspection, punching, shearing, laser cutting, and sorting), Italian Euro CNC hydraulic busbar bending machines, and various testing equipment and instruments for production processes and product inspections. The excellent and complete equipment ensures product quality. The company passed the ISO9001:1994 quality system certification by Det Norske Veritas on March 25, 1999; passed the ISO9001:2000 quality system certification by the UK SGS Yarsley Certification Institution in July 2002; and passed the ISO9001:2000 quality system certification by the US Auri Certification Co., Ltd. in November 2005. All produced low voltage switchgear have obtained the national 3C certificate. In May 2002, the company signed a long-term cooperation agreement with Siemens Automation and Drives Group, starting cooperative production of SIVACON 8PT low voltage switchgear, and became a designated manufacturer for its SIKUS/STAB series low voltage distribution boxes (cabinets). In May 2003, cooperation began with Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Group to produce NXAIR 10KV high voltage switchgear. In August 2007, cooperation with Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution Group was established to produce 8BK20 high voltage switchgear. Through technical cooperation, the company introduced Siemens' advanced computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided process planning (CAPP), and computer-aided production management (CAM) software for switchgear, significantly enhancing its engineering design capability, production processes, and management level. The company's products are used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, coal, metallurgy, electric power, and machinery manufacturing across the country, and are batch-exported to Algeria and other countries.
