Hormel (China) leverages the strengths of both joint venture partners to provide consumers with high-quality meat products. The factory was built using Western technology and possesses the world's finest food processing equipment imported from around the globe.
Hormel (China) produces a full range of retail and foodservice meat products, including Western-style products familiar to the American people, as well as Chinese-style products specially developed to suit Chinese tastes. In addition to pork and beef products, it imports raw turkey from our sister company, Jennie-O Turkey Store, in the United States for processing, smoking, and cooking.
Hormel (China) supplies meat products to various retail and foodservice customers. In the foodservice sector, key clients include Pizza Hut and KFC under Yum! Brands. Beijing and Shanghai Hormel received the Yum! Global Star Supplier Award presented in Dallas, Texas, on March 17, 2002. Most four- and five-star hotels in the Beijing and Shanghai regions are clients of Beijing and Shanghai Hormel, including Kempinski Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Portman Ritz-Carlton, Grand Hyatt Shanghai, Marriott Hotel, Regal International East Asia Hotel, Shanghai International Equatorial Hotel, and Grand Mercure Shanghai. Chain restaurants include Subway, IKEA, and Papa John's.
On the retail side, Hormel products are sold to consumers through various retail chains, hypermarkets, department stores, and convenience stores. These include Carrefour, Walmart, Metro, Lotus, Makro, Tesco, Trust-Mart, Liangyou Convenience, Hualian Lianhua, Suguo, Huijin Department Store, Lawson, and others.

Beijing Hormel Foods Co., Ltd. (BHFC) is a Sino-American joint venture in the Beijing region engaged in the production and sale of meat products. In 1994, the American company Hormel Foods Corporation, with a history of over one hundred years, formed a partnership with Beijing Sun Group (formerly Beijing Sanyuan Group), establishing Beijing Hormel Foods Co., Ltd. The processing plant is located in Huanggang Township, Chaoyang District, and began production in early 1998.

Shanghai Hormel Foods Co., Ltd. (SHFC) is a Sino-American joint venture in the Shanghai region engaged in the production and sale of meat products. In 1995, the American company Hormel Foods Corporation formed a partnership with the state-owned Dachang Meat Processing Plant (now a subsidiary of Shanghai Jinjiang International Group), establishing Shanghai Hormel Foods Co., Ltd. The processing plant is located within the Dachang meat processing plant site and began production at the end of 1997.
At the beginning of 2013, American Hormel acquired Skippy peanut butter brand under Unilever. Skippy peanut butter was first introduced to the U.S. market on February 1, 1933, and entered the Chinese market in 1998. Over the years, its market share has consistently ranked first, far exceeding any other peanut butter brand, and it has led the category's development for many consecutive years. The average annual sales of the Skippy brand are 370 million US dollars. The brand has factories in Arkansas, USA, and Weifang, China. In the international market, Skippy peanut butter is the leading brand in China and is sold to more than 30 countries across five continents. The acquisition of the Skippy peanut butter business demonstrates a significant opportunity for Hormel Foods, helping Hormel expand its brand presence in core supermarket areas with non-meat products and making its business model more balanced. After this acquisition, Hormel (China) is now responsible for the operation of this brand in China. Hormel (China) believes that under its management, Skippy peanut butter will achieve even greater success in China.
