China Railway Engineering Group Co., Ltd.

China Railway Engineering Corporation (abbreviated as CREC in English) is a multi-functional, super-large enterprise group integrating survey and design, construction and installation, real estate development, industrial manufacturing, scientific research consulting, engineering supervision, capital operation, financial trust, and foreign trade. Its predecessor was the Engineering Administration Bureau and Design Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Railways, established in March 1950, which later underwent several changes to become the Capital Construction Administration Bureau of the Ministry of Railways. In July 1989, the Ministry of Railways abolished the Capital Construction Administration Bureau and established China Railway Engineering Corporation. In September 2000, the Corporation was "decoupled" from the Ministry of Railways and transferred entirely to the management of the Central Enterprises Working Committee. After the establishment of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) in March 2003, it came under the management of SASAC. In November 2006, it became one of the first pilot enterprises for the board of directors of wholly state-owned enterprises under the State Council SASAC.
China Railway Engineering Corporation has under its jurisdiction 46 member enterprises and affiliated units. These mainly include China Overseas Engineering Group Co., Ltd., China Railway Real Estate Group Co., Ltd., the 1st to 10th Bureaus of China Railway, China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, China Railway Tunnel Group, China Railway Electrification Engineering Group, and China Railway Construction Engineering Group, totaling 14 super-large construction enterprises, 4 large industrial manufacturing enterprises, 11 design institutes and research institutes, 12 directly affiliated subsidiaries and branches, and 2 educational institutions. They are distributed across all provinces, cities, and autonomous regions except Taiwan Province, mainly concentrated in the Beijing-Guangzhou Line, the Longhai Line, the Bohai Rim Economic Zone, and the Southwest region, and have set up 72 overseas institutions including offices, representative offices, companies, and project departments in more than 60 countries and regions.
The entire company currently has over 270,000 active employees and more than 120,000 professional and technical personnel of various types. Among them, there are 3 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 7 national survey and design masters, 389 professor-level senior engineers, and 8,046 senior technical personnel. A total of 295 technical experts enjoy special government allowances, 6 have been awarded the title of "Young and Middle-Aged Science and Technology Experts with Outstanding Contributions," 55 have won provincial and ministerial-level titles for outstanding young and middle-aged science and technology experts, and 49 have received the Zhan Tianyou Award. There are 225 national model workers and 467 other advanced model figures of various types.
