CETC

China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) is a key state-owned backbone enterprise directly managed by the central government, serving as the main force of China's electronics industry, the national team for cyberspace and information technology, and a national strategic scientific and technological force. CETC has a relatively complete scientific and technological innovation system in the field of electronic information, holding a leading technological position in electronic equipment, cyberspace and information systems, industrial foundations, and cybersecurity. It shoulders the important responsibilities of supporting scientific and technological self-reliance, advancing modernization, accelerating the development of the digital economy, and serving social and people's livelihoods.

Inheriting the red genes and continuing the spirit of patriotism, CETC has undergone historical changes since the founding of New China in 1949, including the First Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Third Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Fourth Ministry of Machinery Industry, the Tenth Research Institute of the Science and Technology Commission, the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry, the Ministry of Electronics Industry, and the Ministry of Information Industry. In March 2002, with the approval of the State Council, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation was established on the basis of 46 electronic research institutes and 26 enterprises directly under the former Ministry of Information Industry. In December 2017, it completed the corporate system reform and changed its name to China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

In June 2021, with the approval of the State Council, China Putian Information Industry Group Co., Ltd. was fully merged into CETC, becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of CETC.

At present, CETC has more than 700 enterprises and institutions, including 47 research institutes and 17 listed companies; it has more than 200,000 employees, of whom 55% are R&D personnel; it has 41 key laboratories, research centers, and innovation centers. It has been selected for the Fortune Global 500 for many consecutive years.

As the main force of China's electronics industry, CETC closely follows the fundamental standard of "being able to fight and win wars," implements the task deployment of achieving the centenary goal of the People's Liberation Army by 2027, and continuously improves its capabilities in electronic information, network and independent controllability, speeds up the construction of network information systems, strengthens independent innovation and original innovation in science and technology, comprehensively improves the supply chain security level, fully supports joint operations and full-domain operations, and serves the modernization of national defense and the armed forces.

To optimize electronic equipment, CETC focuses on developing system-level equipment and products that use acoustic, optical, and electromagnetic signals for information perception, transmission, and utilization, creating a new generation of full-domain, multi-dimensional electronic equipment, and continuously consolidating its leading position in the field of electronic equipment and civilian product segments.

To expand cyberspace and information systems, CETC focuses on developing military and civilian information infrastructure and various digital applications and overall solutions, comprehensively supporting the improvement of joint operations and full-domain operations capabilities based on network information systems, the enhancement of national governance capabilities, and digital development.

To refine industrial foundations, CETC focuses on building the basic support capability for scientific research and production of electronic basic products, with the fundamental goal of consolidating the independent and controllable capability of the industrial chain and supply chain, and promoting ecological and clustered development with "CETC genes" as the core.

To strengthen cybersecurity, CETC focuses on developing security protection capabilities in cyberspace, grasping the laws of cyberspace and cybersecurity development, effectively supporting the construction of network warfare equipment, accelerating the development of the cybersecurity industry, deeply cultivating the information technology application innovation industry, and providing important guarantees for the overall national security.
