湖南外国语职业学院始建于1993年。2006年2月，经湖南省人民政府批准，正式成为高等职业院校，是“国际影响力50强”高职院校，也是目前我国高校中被世界职业教育院校联盟吸纳为会员的五所高校之一。学院分长沙、浏阳两地办学，占地面积1062.5亩，长沙校区位于湖南省长沙市望城区丁字湾街道，目前共有在校学生13000余人，教职工800余人，现设有英语学院、西方语言学院、东方语言学院、涉外经济管理学院、教育与艺术学院、信息技术与工程学院、医学健康管理学院、马克思主义学院（筹）等二级学院，以及产教融合学院、国际创新创业学院、国际教育学院3个学院平台，共开设32个专业。学院计划在“十四五”期间成为职业教育本科试点院校，现因发展需要，诚邀热爱教育事业的有识之士加盟。
