Guangdong Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and China Tobacco Corporation Guangdong Branch were established in 1983, under the leadership of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and China Tobacco Corporation, implementing the management system of 'unified leadership, vertical management, and monopoly operation'. Headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, it governs 20 municipal tobacco monopoly bureaus (companies) and 1 tobacco leaf redrying limited company, with approximately 13,000 employees.
